Procedure to File a Complaint against a Member of the Albany Police Department
There are several ways for a person(s) to file a complaint against members of the Albany Police Department. Person(s) with a complaint should do one of the following:
- Mail a letter, describing the complaint, to the Albany Police Department, ATTENTION: Internal Affairs, P.O. Box 447, Albany, Georgia 31702-0447, or Call (229) 431-2100
- Request to speak with a supervisor regarding a complaint.
- The person answering the call may ask some preliminary questions to determine which appropriate supervisor should process the complaint, or
- Contact any supervisor of the Albany Police Department, either in person or by phone.
- The supervisor will take the complaint or make contact with the appropriate person for processing the complaint, or
- Contact the Information Desk at the Albany Police Department (Ground Floor East Side)
- Request to speak with a supervisor regarding a complaint.
- The person at the Information Desk may ask some preliminary questions to determine which appropriate supervisor should process the complaint, or
- Use the following link to fill out a Complaint Form.
Note: The Allegation of Employee Misconduct Form is required to process complaints against members of the Albany Police Department. These forms may be obtained at the Albany Police Department.
