Firearm Safety

The Basic Firearm Classes are now open!

The eight-hour class is open to citizens 21 years of age or older and covers basic handgun safety, legal issues, and handling skills needed to deploy a handgun for self-defense.

Applicants will be required to sign a release and authorize the Albany Police Department to conduct a background check to determine their eligibility for the course.
