About the Public Information Office
The Public Information Office (PIO) is a communication hub for the City of Albany. We are responsible for sharing information about activities, events, and services with the community, media, and other stakeholders.
Krista Monk, Public Information Officer
Krista began her journey in Albany, Georgia, at the age of 19. She relocated from the metro Atlanta area to pursue her education at the Turner Job Corps Center. While at Job Corps, she received her GED and began her higher education at Darton College. After receiving associate's degrees in journalism and criminal justice, she attended Albany State University (ASU) to earn her bachelor's degree in mass communication. During her time at ASU, Krista began working for WALB News 10. After seven years in the news industry, Krista made the jump into the field of public information and began working for the City of Albany in 2021. Since she started, she has launched the Government 101 class, which is hosted twice a year, planned several events on behalf of the City Manager's Office to celebrate staff, and is determined to make a positive impact in the community that she says has done so much for her.
Tina Davis, Graphic Designer
Tina grew up in Albany and is a graduate of Albany High School. After graduation, she attended the Savannah College of Art and Design. She later transferred to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where she earned her Associate of Arts degree with a focus on Marketing and Graphic Design. Working as an Artist and Graphic Designer has been a lifelong dream. On March 19, 2022, Tina was appointed as the Graphic Designer for the Public Information Office. When she is not working, Tina enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters, five grandchildren, and other family and friends. Her extra-curricular activities include competing in plein-air painting contests, photography, and creating traditional and digital art.
Chad Hudson, Videographer/Photographer
Chad was born and raised in South Georgia. He currently lives in Albany with his wife and two boys. When he isn’t taking photos or shooting videos for the city, he spends time with his family, travels, or works on his own video/photo projects. Chad joined the PIO team in October 2023, and with the support of his colleagues, he has been able to flex his creative muscles in various ways for the city. “I’ve really enjoyed being a part of the PIO team. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to work with amazing people every day and utilize my creative skills to impact the City of Albany positively. I want to work here for a very long time and continue to grow creatively and in my career.” - Chad Hudson.
