Due to the Albany Board of Commissioners considering a millage rate that is lower than the initially advertised millage rate, there will be no need to hold the public hearings. The Commission will officially vote on a rollback millage rate during their meeting on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., in Room 100 of the Government Center, at 222 Pine Avenue.
The City of Albany Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2025 millage rate, which will require an increase in property tax by .26 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on the tax increase to be held at the Government Center in Room 100, 222 Pine Avenue, Albany, Georgia.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 10.672 mills, an increase of .028 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 10.644 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $1.06, and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $1.40.
