Press Release - W. Broad Avenue Sidewalk Closure - 11/20/25

Albany, GA – Construction is underway at the Davis Exchange building located at 102 N. Washington Street. To assist with the work, Sheridan Construction will install an external trash chute and dumpster at the eastern corner of the building on W. Broad Avenue, which will block a portion of the sidewalk.

Sheridan Construction will implement the following safety protocols during construction.

• Rerouting of pedestrian traffic utilizing barricades and fencing that meet or exceed applicable safety and ADA guidelines.
• Clear and visible safety signage to warn and direct the public around the construction zone.
• Secure perimeter fencing to restrict unauthorized entry into active work areas.
• Daily inspections by our site-safety personnel to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards, City ordinances, and Sheridan Construction’s internal safety protocols.
• Immediate corrective action procedures should any condition arise, that may compromise public safety or impede pedestrian flow.

While this chute and dumpster are temporary, they will be in place for the duration of the construction and renovation of the Davis Exchange Building.
