Albany, GA – The City of Albany (CoA) is proud to launch the CoA Youth Work Program. This workforce development initiative provides local high school students with meaningful work experience and essential job-readiness skills.
This City-led program will serve students ages 16–18 through structured placements within City departments, combined with workforce literacy sessions focused on professionalism, financial literacy, resume development, and career readiness.
As part of the broader Albany 100 Summer Initiative, the City is also partnering with local employers and organizations to expand youth employment opportunities throughout the community. The Albany 100 initiative allows businesses to participate at various levels by offering paid or unpaid internship experiences based on their individual capacity and needs.
The City will support this collaborative effort by coordinating program promotion and hosting a centralized job fair to connect students with participating employers. Employers will be responsible for interviewing and selecting candidates in alignment with their organizational expectations.
If you're interested in participating, the City can provide a structured model as a resource. Employers are encouraged to tailor their internship experiences to best fit their operations.
Important Dates:
Employers interested in participating are encouraged to contact Angela Calhoun at acalhoun@albanyga.gov or Towanna Howard at thoward@albanyga.gov.
