Albany, GA – On Sunday, February 22, through Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the City of Albany will activate Operation Safe Place to provide people with a warm place to stay overnight.
According to the current forecast, cold temperatures are expected on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights.
The Albany Transit Center at 300 W. Oglethorpe Boulevard will be open from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning Sunday and will resume regular operations beginning at 7 a.m. the following day during this time.
We will continue to monitor the weather to see if the warming center will need to be extended or if any additional days will need to be included.
