Albany, GA – Effective immediately, the City of Albany Solid Waste Recycling Center will no longer accept mixed recyclable materials. Anyone dropping off materials must separate all items by type before dropping them off. Mixed recyclables will not be accepted.

To ensure proper processing, all recyclable items must be:

  • Separated by material type (glass with glass, plastics with plastics, paper with paper, etc.)
  • Clean and free of contaminants

If you arrive with bags or containers containing mixed materials, staff will ask you to take them home, separate them properly, and return them once they meet the updated standards.
