Albany, GA – Beginning Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the intersection at N. Monroe Street and Society Avenue will be closed due to construction of the Combined Sewer Separation Project. Also, the 1st Avenue westbound connection to N. Monroe Street will be closed west of the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital parking deck. Detour signs will be in place, and drivers are urged to use caution when driving through this area. Traffic will be delayed until work is complete, and motorists should consider alternate routes.
