There will be a public hearing on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., in room 100 of the Government Center Building located at 222 Pine Ave., regarding the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 Budget.

Albany, GA – It is with a heavy heart that the City of Albany announces the passing of one of our own. On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, 20-year-old Caiden Gibson, an apprentice lineman, passed away following an accident. He was a fiancé, father, a friend, and a dedicated employee. We have been providing support to Mr. Gibson’s family.
Mr. Gibson began working for the City’s Utility Operations Department in September of 2024.
The City will be investigating the accident. The City is also ensuring that support resources are available to all staff members and their families during this difficult time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Gibson’s loved ones, family, friends, and co-workers.
