Albany, GA – According to Transportation Director David Hamilton, the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport will conduct an Airport Fire Station Training Exercise on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
During this training, airport emergency response personnel may be seen conducting fire and emergency response activities. This is a scheduled training exercise and is NOT a real fire emergency.
The training ensures airport fire and emergency personnel are prepared to respond safely and effectively in the event of an actual airport emergency.
Members of the public in the surrounding area may observe emergency vehicles, personnel, and other training activities during the exercise.
Please do not be alarmed. No emergency is taking place, and any flames will be contained.
