Albany, GA – On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the City of Albany Commission met for its regular meeting. Below are just a few of the items that were voted on.

• One-Time Rebate: Senior Utility Customers: Request a one-time bill credit of $125 for eligible senior citizens on their February utility bill.
  • The Commission approved the resolution.

• Front Street Renovations: This project is for renovations at 115, 121, and 123 N. Front Street. The contract time for this project shall be 165 days. This significant ADICA initiative is a collaboration between the City of Albany, ADICA, and 4C Academy.
  • The Commission approved the purchase.

• Redevelopment of 205-207 Pine, 126 N. Washington: Recommendation to approve redevelopment of 205-207 Pine & 126 N. Washington:
  • Woodmont Lodging, LLC, as the proposer
  • Six-month extension to develop the MOU
  • Shared attorney cost (70-30% split)
    • The Commission approved the recommendation.

• Microbrewery Redevelopment: Approve the bid proposal from Socius Beer Collective and adopt, authorizing the resolution, or reject the bid. Resolution: Approving a Line of Credit for Socius Beer Collective for the redevelopment of the Microbrewery.
  • The Commission postponed the resolution.

• Henderson Park Construction: Authorizing the Use of SPLOST VII Funds for Henderson Park Construction. The new facility will provide a central location for residents of all ages to gather, reducing social isolation and strengthening community bonds. It will house new educational, health, and wellness programs, thereby increasing residents' access to valuable resources. A new community center will increase property values in the area, boosting local tax revenue. It can also attract visitors to events and tournaments, generating local tax revenue.
  • The Commission approved the resolution.
