Albany, GA – Starting Monday, October 12, 2026, at 8 a.m., part of W. Broad Avenue will be reduced to two lanes between Washington Street and Jackson Street.
The westbound lanes will temporarily accommodate two-way traffic. The inside lane, closest to the centerline, will carry eastbound traffic, while the outside lane will remain open for westbound traffic.
For the first two weeks, drivers on Jackson Street will only be able to turn right onto Broad Avenue going west. Detour signs will direct drivers back to Broad Avenue at Washington Street.
This lane change will last about six weeks or until the work is finished.
Drivers should expect heavy traffic and possible delays. Please plan for extra travel time or use another route.
Be careful when driving in this area, as road crews will be working nearby.
