The City of Albany Storm water Utility has established the Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) at 2,700 square feet, and has assigned most Single-Family Residential customers a flat rate user fee of 1.0 ERU for storm water services.

All Residential customers applying for services with Albany Utilities are required to make a deposit to cover the utility services that are available at the new address.
The deposit amount will be based on the customer's credit rating.
The Deposit Amount Will Not Exceed $200.00
A current customer with a deposit can transfer the deposit if moving to a new address. If the current deposit is less than the deposit required for services at the new address, additional deposit will be required. A current customer with an excellent credit rating who has had Albany Utilities services for a minimum of 2 years will not be required to make a deposit before transferring to a new address. A current customer who has had Albany Utilities services for less than 2 years will be required to make a deposit before transferring to a new address. A current customer with less than an excellent credit rating will be required to make a deposit before transferring or acquiring new services.
The customer deposit will be applied to the account after 2 years if the account has not been delinquent during the 2 year period and an excellent credit rating has been maintained. If the customer no longer requires Utilities services, the account will be final and the deposit will be applied to any balance due. Any credit balance will be returned to the customer by mail.
