The Applications Team provides technology-based solutions to all departments within the City of Albany and Dougherty County. Applications provides comprehensive software life-cycle support; responsible for providing technology vision, research, development, support and leadership, as well as day-to-day information technology support to the City and County. The division contributes to an efficient and productive City and County government while using innovative solutions to improve citizens' access to government information and services.
The goal of the Applications Division is to provide world-class technical advice, solutions and services to our customers. While we do not provide direct customer service to the general public, our efforts directly supports the citizens of Albany and Dougherty County.
Technology & Communications Applications Division
The Applications Division is continually evaluating new and evolving technologies that will position the City of Albany/Dougherty County as best-in-class. The division performs feasibility studies, RFP development, consulting services, and systems analysis.
The Applications division recommends new solutions for applications and processes which will enhance the flow of business to include project management, software engineering, architectural and design services, application testing, technical/functional documentation development, and training.
The Applications division puts the efforts of Research and Development into a physical working plan and deployment. We coordinate all efforts between the user department, vendors and TAC as it relates to the deployment of technology.
The Applications division provides comprehensive software life-cycle support. We provide all services necessary to maintain implemented systems as well as day-to-day support.
