C. Nathan Davis, J.D.
The City of Albany's Attorney is C. Nathan Davis. Mr. Davis was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1947 and attended public schools in Miami, Florida. In 1969, he graduated from Mercer University with a B.S. degree and from Mercer’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1972 with a J.D., cum laude. While in law school, Davis was a member of the Mercer Law Review.
Following graduation, Davis served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable W. A. Bootle, United States District Judge, Middle District of Georgia from June 1972 to August 1973. He served as an Assistant United States Attorney, Middle District of Georgia from August 1973 to December 1975. He began his law practice in Albany in December 1975 and had a varied civil practice. He was also part-time United States Magistrate, Albany, Georgia from May 1979 to June 1988 and Solicitor in the Municipal Court from 1986 until assuming the City Attorney’s position.
