 What type of cases does the City Attorney's Office represent?

The City Attorney's Office acts as legal representative of the City in all cases of litigation brought by or against the City.

Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m.  - 5 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time

Excluding inclement weather and the following holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day

When is Nuisance & Abatement Court held?

Nuisance & Abatement Court is held on the last Wednesday of each month.  If the last Wednesday of the months falls on a holiday, Court will be held the week prior.   Municipal Court is located at  225 Pine Avenue, Suite 208, Albany, GA 31702.

How long will it take to get a response to my open records request?

By law we have three (3) business days to respond; however, if the request takes longer to search and retrieve our office will contact you with an estimate of when you can expect to receive documents.

How do I request copies of the code of ordinances and City Commission minutes from the City of Albany?

The code of ordinances and minutes are available electronically at no charge for this service. You also may contact the City Clerk's Office to request copies for a nominal fee.
