Fire Department to Hold “Live Burn” Training
On March 2, 2018, the Fire Department will be conducting “live burn” fire training at 418 Residence Avenue.
During the training, commuters and nearby residents likely will see black smoke coming from the 400 block of Residence. There will be no media access to the training.
Sebon Burns, Interim Fire Chief stated, “Saving lives and avoiding injury are the reasons fire departments invest in firefighting experience under safe, controlled conditions. Firefighting professionals agree that live fire training can reduce the number of injuries and deaths of firefighters and civilians, reduce lost time and compensation claims and improve public image of the fire department.”
