Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Revitalizes South Apron and T-Hanger Taxiways
Albany, GA (October 8, 2019) – The Mayor and City Commissioners approved the contract with Oxford Construction Co., for the South Apron and T-Hangar Taxiways reconstruction and re-marking at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport with a total expenditure of $ $2,626,493.00.
This project generally consists of demolishing existing pavement, reconstructing the South Apron and T-Hangar taxiway, and re-marking the project limits. The work will involve replacing several drainage structures, painting new pavement markings, detailed erosion control, and paving approximately 3,650 tons of P-401 asphalt. A new taxiway connector will be constructed to connect to the South Apron. Work will include paving approximately 750 tons of P-401 asphalt, crushed aggregate base course, pavement markings, grading and drainage, and approximately 40 taxiway LED lights.
The funding sources are federal (90%), state (5%), and local (5%). The contract time for this project is 150 consecutive calendar days.
