Commission Approves SWGA Regional Airport Disadvantage Business Enterprise Program
Albany, GA (September 10, 2019) – The City Board of Commissioners approved the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) Program for 2019 through 2023.
The airport is required to have a DBE Program Plan in order to receive Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) Grant Funds. The DBE Program Plan is a good faith effort and the COA/SWGA Regional Airport is required to monitor contracts and follow requirements for prompt payment. The overall triennial DBE goal for SWGA Regional Airport is 13.50%. The Aviation Board has reviewed and recommended approval of this DBE Program Plan.
David Hamilton, Director of Transportation, stated, “This plan keeps the City in compliance with state and federal requirements. Furthermore, it gives disadvantage businesses assurance they will be given a level playing field to participate on projects at the SWGA Regional Airport.”
