City Commissioners Adopts Fiscal Year 2020 Budget
Albany, GA (June 26, 2019) – The Albany City Commission adopted the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget this evening in the commission meeting. The new budget reflects an increase from last year; the costs for utilities and property taxes will not be increased. The $288.3 million budget reflects added revenues and associated expenses being generated through the passage of T-SPLOST, along with additional Federal funds related to the City’s transit program.
Within the adopted budget, a number of additional initiatives are addressed. These initiatives include “Team-up to Clean-up,” an effort initiated by the City to form a collaboration with various community partners in order to address the appearance of the community’s entry thoroughfares.
Ms. Sharon D. Subadan, City Manager, stated; “Albany has been laying the necessary groundwork for significant infrastructure enhancements and service delivery improvements for our citizens over the past few years. We are continuing to build on these successes with the adopted budget.”
