City Commission Approves Billing Software for Albany Utilities
Albany, GA (March 12, 2019)- The Mayor and City Commissioners approved the contract agreement with Tyler Technologies of Plano, Texas for the purchase of billing software for Albany Utilities for an estimated total three-year expenditure of $1,260,404 that will be funded by SPLOST VII.
In September 2018, The City Commission accepted the Utility Board's recommendation to purchase billing software from Tyler Technologies. This contract will replace the existing Hanson Technologies Banner Software that currently handles the billing for electric, natural gas, water, and telecommunications. Tyler Technologies is a cloud-based technology that is implemented by several different cities like Macon-Bibb County and Lowndes County.
Steven Carter, Chief Information Officer, stated, “The software will provide needed functionality that the current billing software does not and will allow us to serve our customers better.”
