Albany, GA (February 26, 2019)- The Mayor and City Commissioners approved the Albany Utility Board recommendation to contract with Constantine Engineering of Augusta, GA, to perform an analysis of the City's remaining Combined Sewer System, problem storm drainage areas, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The contract will be a unit price contract funded by the Sewer Division budget. It will take approximately ten months for Constantine Engineering to complete the comprehensive plan. Sharon D. Subadan, City Manager, stated, “This engineering consultant will help to put together a comprehensive plan to implement and improve our sewer infrastructure. It will not be a plan that will sit on the shelf but will be used to determine ways of funding and assist with prioritizing projects. Staff will periodically provide updates on the status of the work to the Board of Commissioners.”
