New Seating for Paul Eames Park Approved
Albany, GA (January 22, 2019) – The Board of Commissioners approved an agreement to have stadium seating installed at Paul Eames Sports Complex for $132,702 by Georgia Specialty Equipment of Fayetteville, Georgia.
The Albany City Commission approved new stadium seating in today’s Commission Meeting, continuing the effort to modernize Paul Eames Park. Joel Holmes, Director of Recreation and Parks Department, stated “The City will see the value of this improvement soon. The park is scheduled to host several events through 2019 to include the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) regional baseball tournament and in partnership with Albany State University hosting the SIAC baseball and softball championships.”
Further enhancements scheduled for Paul Eames Park include a crushed asphalt parking lot, shade cover for spectator areas, playing surface improvements to the field, field irrigation repairs, and updating of the player locker room areas. City Manager Sharon D. Subadan added she is “…pleased that this long overdue upgrade to this excellent City facility will start providing dividends as increased tournament hosting opportunities will bring traveling spectator dollars into our community.”
