J. C. Odom, Jr.  Fitness and Wellness Center

(formerly known as Jackson Heights Fitness & Wellness Center) 

J. C. Odom, Jr.  Fitness & Wellness Center offers a variety of exercise options including free weights, nautilus equipment, treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical machines, and a variety of exercise classes.  The exercise component is combined with seminars on proper nutrition and diet, weight management, and disease prevention for an emphasis on the total wellness of an individual.

Hours of operation:

7 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. & 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. (Monday - Thursday) 1100
7 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. & 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. (Friday) 
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Saturday) 
Closed Sunday

Membership:  There is no membership fee, but a membership application must be completed.  Membership is for adults ages 18 and older.  Those ages 13-17 are welcome to join, but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and supervised at all times.   

Location:  The center is located at 1100 N. Jordan Location, adjacent to C.W. Heath Park.  From the Liberty Bypass, exit south on Blaylock.  Go past Flint Equipment; turn left on E. 4th Ave. and continue until it ends at Jordan Street.

Life Trail System

Life Trail is a recreation program specifically designed to meet the needs of older adults. In a nutshell, the system incorporates a series of ten outdoor wellness stations located along a walking path. Using the Life Trail system is fun, social, and great exercise. The Life Trail System is located in the back of the facility and is open from dawn until dusk.  You may access through the center or use the back gate near the C. W. Heath walking track.

Programs

Aspire 2 Be Fit is a new program for Aspire consumers to develop, improve, and maintain sound fitness and healthy lifestyle choices.  Program activities include: weight lifting, trail walking for cardio, and personal training speakers.  Held on Mondays (October 8, October 22, November 5, and November 19) from 5:00 - 6:15 pm.  For further information, contact Jesse Barnes at 430-3621.   Aspire 2 Be Fit flyer
