Baker

DR. DWIGHT L. BAKER is a seasoned Human Resources professional with 23 years of experience providing leadership and strategic guidance in all core HR functions. His entire career has been in the field of Human Resources (HR) delivering high-quality service to employees and company leadership. Baker is well versed in complexities of public sector HR administration.

Dr. Baker is committed to the Human Resources profession. He has served as Senior Manager for Human Resources for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, Director of Human Resources & Risk Management for Macon-Bibb County Government, Director of Human Resources & Risk Management  for the City of College Park (GA), Director of Human Resources for the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, Director of Human Resources at Atlanta Technical College and Associate Director of Human Resources at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Baker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Human Resources from Morris Brown College, a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Capella University and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree specializing in Human Resource Management from Capella University, School of Business and Technology. He is also a member of Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society for Business.  Dr. Baker currently holds the IPMA-SCP (Senior HR Certified Professional) Designation issued by the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR). He is a member of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Dr. Baker is also a strong advocate of community service, specifically the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta Young Professional Leaders (YPL), where the aim of YPL is to build a network of Atlanta’s rising community and business leaders that will collectively affect the Atlanta region, focusing on philanthropy, advocacy, volunteerism, and leadership. In 2010 and 2012, Dr. Baker was named as one of Atlanta's Who’s Who in Black Atlanta. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. In his spare time, he enjoys the performing arts and attending sports events.
